Closing Celebration

Foreigner

Tuesday, October 2 • Doors open at 7:15 pm • Concert starts at 8:15 pm

The Closing Celebration at NECA 2018 Philadelphia will feature celebrated rock band Foreigner, who rank among the highest-selling acts of all time. Boasting 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular groups in the world. They have a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales exceeding 75 million.

Foreigner is responsible for some of music’s most enduring anthems and the worldwide No. 1 hit, I Want To Know What Love Is. At the band’s core is founder Mick Jones, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He re-formed the band after a 2002 hiatus and selected lead singer Kelly Hansen to help write a new chapter. One of rock’s greatest showmen, Hansen is known for his innate ability to connect with crowds.

Renewed vitality and direction helped Foreigner triumph again on the charts with the 2005 release of a live greatest hits album. In 2014, Atlantic Records Chairman Craig Kallman presented Mick Jones with RIAA gold and platinum digital awards for six songs, signifying 500,000 and 1,000,000 downloads, which is more individual awards than any other heritage rock band.
